I just ran across this today. Looks to be a helpful software update, especially for older model years. I do not know yet if this update has been released to dealers in the US.

I was able to secure a service appointment to have the software update done on my 2020 Taycan - - Friday August 19. Given the current shortage of Taycan-certified technicians, I think I’m a bit lucky to be able to have it done within 3 weeks time. 😊

I’ve read the software might improve range by as much as 31 miles with the big battery and, if true,
That would be a 10% increase in my real world range.

My Taycan was loaded with newest PCM 6.0 at the dealer on 07/26/2022 so I made a video selecting every button and menu to show the viewer the difference(? If there’s any) from your PCM. Video might be little boring because I’m just clicking though the menu….so fast forward to the section you want to check. Thanks.

Thank you very much for taking the time to record this video and post it. I'm looking forward to having this software update installed on my 2020 Taycan. I'll be having the software update done during the same service visit I've scheduled to have the recent safety recall (for the under front seat wiring harnesses) performed.

I just had the Update to 2023 Software Update completed and picked up my 2020 Taycan Turbo yesterday. My initial reaction is mostly positive with one negative.

The Positives:

1. My Apple CarPlay seems to connect more quickly than it used to.

2. I didn’t lose any of my Audio Favorites (although the Favorites were moved and sort of hidden until I found them and was able to move them back to where the used to be).

3. I didn’t lose my SmartLift saved locations.

4. I like the look of the Color Tiles on the PCM screen better than the White on Black look of the prior version of the PCM screen.

The Negative:

1. The All-Wheel Drive gauge that I used to be able to view in the left circle part of the Instrument Cluster has completely vanished. An improved version of it has not been moved to the center circle as Porsche’s July Press Release seemed to promise.

This “missing” All-Wheel Drive gauge has me thinking the dealer installed a “wrong” (perhaps a Beta) version of the update software.

The Inconclusive:

1. I’ve driven my Taycan only 100 miles since the software update so it’s too soon to tell whether or not the range increase of 30-ish miles is real or not.

Overall, I am glad I had the upgrade done since the faster connection to Apple CarPlay is a benefit I will enjoy every day. I do wish I hadn’t lost my All-Wheel Drive gaug, and if it turns out that my dealership didn’t install the correct version of the software update, that will be very frustrating and disappointing.

The all-wheel-drive were moved to «Trip» under »Car/Vehicle». It´s displayed as blue when using power, green while braking and grey when not using power or recuperating.

I got the PCM update for my 2021 RWD. There is no range increase. The update improved SIRIUS XM lagging and dumb message of subscription renew nonsense that used to pop up for almost a year and a half. The icon looks better, and I can sort the near by charging units per KW speed 350, 250, 150...etc. They gave me a new Porsche manual to replace the one that came with the car.

Overall a good update

The range increase is likely only capable with all-wheel drive versions and not RWD. This is because the increased range is achieved at certain times by not using the front wheel motors.
