When Porsche pulls the sheet of its electric super sedan on September 4th, the German automaker will launch its battle against Tesla with the high performance Taycan Turbo and Turbo S models.
While not confirmed by Porsche, we've now received two reports of this launch strategy, including one from a rep at Bellevue Porsche.
"... we have heard Porsche will be launching the top of the range Turbo model first with less powerful models to follow," said one dealership rep to one of our TaycanEVForum members.
Another TaycanEVForum member was first to bring this rumor to light, indicating that his sources within Porsche say the 4S model will launch October 15th. The 4S would have a 330 mile range while you'll be able to opt for a long range (370 mile) version as well.
It should be noted that these mileage numbers are WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure), which means they are done under the new Euro testing method. EPA numbers which are far more accurate, will likely drop range estimates by 10-15%.
