All was well until at 1700 miles got an “Electrical system error SERVICE REQUIRED”. Car won’t move.
To add insult to injury roaside assistance is no help. On hold more than 30 mins. Called dealer told me to call roadside assistance to get it towed in.
Will post the resolution to the story but at this point not good

After stopping the vehicle, there is a knocking sound from the bottom
Before it knocks are you stopped with a small yellow “hold” in the center of your instrument cluster? There are times where I seem to get it into a hill holding mode so the car won’t roll backwards, and it knocks as I apply power and it disconnects.
Same thing just happened to my 2020 Taycan Turbo. Dealership is trying to troubleshoot.

TAYCAN Error message: ‘Electrical system fault inspection necessary’.
charger went red, while charging in a station last night,
the error message above came up.
ignition comes on, bu car wouldn’t budge, not possible to go into drive or reverse, so had to abandon.
porsche rescued the car today, and I’m waiting for the diagnosis.
Did this happen to anyone else ?

No they haven’t. It was with the dealership for a couple of weeks and they couldn’t replicate the error so they just reset the system. It didn’t happen for another couple of weeks until last week when we got the same warning. We took it back in to the dealership and this time they were able to replicate the warning on their charger. Now the dealership is working with Germany to try and find the issue. We had to fill out a questionnaire to help with the troubleshooting.
These posts regarding crappy Porsche Software are very alarming. We take delivery this week of a 4S, and we sure don’t have time to be running back-and-forth to the dealer, while everyone scratches their heads about mysterious software problems on a brand-new $170,000+ car.

If we are all beta testers for these cars’ software, then Porsche should be paying us and not vice versa...
Beta testers, that is an understatement. We are guinea pigs....

I got my 4s 2.5 years ago. Software still funky but at least it hasn't bricked in over a year. Sad to hear of all those stranded with no help. I won't drive mine to SoCal, afraid of stranding, take my Jeep instead. Got rid of my Tesla due to bricking also. If you're in Silicon Valley use Redwood City not San Jose, there's a guy named Doug who knows the software
Answering my own question. HV has a bad cell. Germany wants to replace. Over 2 weeks for the part and then the dealer has to fly a technician in to do the replacement that is a 3 day process and 2 days of testing. Probably be 6-8 weeks without my car.
mine turbo dropped dead while parking in my garage at 2048 miles...in dealership now waiting for new battery to arrive and it will take weeks...that sucks...
Just to update: I opened a case with Porsche NA. I recommend everyone do this so that (1) Porsche is aware of the issue and (2) they compensate you for the excessive downtime without your car. My parts are due in 2/22 and according to Porsche NA the "flying doctor" as Porsche calls the HV engineer will be in that day too to change the bad cell in my battery. That is 1 month my car has been down and the repair will take another week or so.

I heard there are 19 full battery replacement cases and only 18 available.

2021 Taycan 4s, we are privileged to have two of these, one needed new batteries at 6 months old, the other had intermittent software and electric issues, both cars are now on tyre set 3 and with around 18000miles on each car means that the cost of tyres £2500 per set x 3 ( almost onto 4th set) is around 42pence per mile!!! Porsche are denying a fault all four tyres wearing on the insides with 6-8mm tread left in the centres, a 2 day software update and a service ,( change the break fluid and pollen filter) £500.00 now it's parked in a carpark of a hotel 100 miles away from my home because porches faulty over the airwaves software update doesn't work if there's no mobile signal and now the immobilizer has been activated, Porsche assistance have told me they can't help and Vodafone automotive are saying they're getting lots of calls because of this update, and Porsche don't know how to fix it, I managed to get a taxi from the hotel home £80 and back tomorrow to see if itll turn on if not return taxi and then again the day after, Porsche assistance won't attend despite it being "their " faulty software and offered no help just said "try it in 24 hours, if that doesn't work wait another 24 hours wtf!! Porsche, get a grip and treat your customers ( repeat customers, soon not to be) with a little consideration, I'm supposed to wait with my car for upto 48 hours to see if the software has installed properly.

Just to update the thread. My car was bricked 1/21/2023. Today, 3/31/2023 the part and technician are supposed to repair the car. Supposedly it will be done by 4/3/2023 and then need a couple days of charging and draining to test. Today is 80 days I have been without my car. If you are in this situation, call 1-800-Porsche and get a case open. Porsche needs to be made aware of these issues and address these excessive delays to get new cars repaired. Hopefully my car is repaired and the issue does not repeat as they are only repairing a HV cell and not the entire battery.
Had my Taycan for one year and it has been in the garage three times. First for software update -1 day, then for the heater not working - 4 days and lastly the car stopped working with no drive - another 4 days. Decided not to chance and wait for the next fault, so sold it and went back to petrol. Such a pity as I loved the looks and driving my car, but there was no way I couldn’t trust it to break down again. Totally unreliable. Such a pity!
