Since there were a lot of comparisons between the Taycan and Panamera, we decided to gather some specs and see how the two 4-door sedans compare to each other.

- The Taycan has a wider track than the Panamera

- It has a lower height and centre of gravity than the Panamera

- Taycan dimensions: It is 4,963 mm long (195.4 inches), 1,966 mm wide (77.4 inches), and 1,378 mm tall (54.3 inches). It has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm (114.1 inches) and weighs 2,323 kg (5,121 lbs.).

- Panamera dimensions: It is 5049 mm long (198.8 inches), 2164.08 mm wide (85.2 inches), and 1422 mm tall (56 inches), It has a wheelbase of 2949 mm (116.1 inches) and weighs 1,815 kg (4,001 lbs.).

- Taycan power numbers:
Turbo: 670 horsepower (500 kW) and 626 lb-ft of torque
Turbo S: 750 horsepower (560 kW) and 774 lb-ft of torque.

- Panamera power numbers:
Panamera Turbo: 550 horsepower and 567 lb-ft of torque
Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid: 667 horsepower and 626 lb-ft of torque

I would love to have those extra few inches from the Panamera in the back seat area of my future Taycan for more leg/foot and head room. (That and the option of a hatchback.) That's why I'm waiting to experience the next Taycan before deciding which to buy. When I said that to a multiple Porsche owner recently, he said, "Who sits in the back seat?" It all comes down to what's important to the individual. The initial Taycan offering is tantalizingly close to checking all my boxes for a personal car, close enough to go with current offering if the next version doesn't check any additional boxes. But, unlike my well-to-do friend, I can only afford to do this once. So I wait.
