Porsche Taycan the LEAST Efficient Electric Car in America (Video)

A very interesting video. And I don't think the EE guy is a Tesla fanboy either. He bought a model 3 a while back and ripped on it HARD.

The question is: do you care?

Watching again, I have to take issue with the fact that he keeps saying that Porsche is putting the focus on one strategy of making a consistent driving feel and performance for the driver, while Tesla is letting the consumer decide for themselves. I don't buy that for a minute. Tesla doesn't care about things like consistent driving feel. They built the car for big numbers regardless of the finer details.

Also, I think one of the other reasons the Porsche is so heavy compared to the Tesla is that it's vastly more luxurious.

Ok.. so i started to watch this YT vid and I could only get to 1:13 until i had to close out the tap. Clearly he never sat in a Taycan, never drove it, only relying on data instead of real world driving experience.Until then i just gonna call BS on these types of YT vids

I do think that's part of the issue. Again, a GT3 seems like it's not great on paper. But drive it and it brings your soul to life.

I could only get to about 1/3 of this 'tirade' also BUT the fact remains that the Taycan is not holding its own in terms of range. I have been a Tesla advocate for 5 years plus and range has always been a factor in my purchases. Have put an order in for a 4S but do believe that Porsche is not going to sell many cars with this range except to Porsche advocates and there are many of these of course. So what do you feel? Should we be early adopters and hope that any improvements in battery range etc will be afforded to us or will we be lurking in the dark in the future?
I think the range will be just fine and especially with the taycan 4s model in light of less weight and same battery meaning more efficiency. Plus many of the videos show ranges around 240-250 miles. Moreover, there will be over the air updates to make it even more efficient just as the audi etron did with its latest release. Remember there are unfortunately a lot of haters out there with motives in there reviews lol.......

So many haters. I honestly wonder if Porsche underestimated this with the launch of the car. If i was them I'd be paying influencers to drive positive conversation.
And to clarify, I do think the range is disappointing. But I also think it's due to Porsche playing it safe in terms of long term battery life, etc.
Porsche needs to build an amazing car, no doubt, but they also have a lot to loose here. They can't just rush out a product with big claims and not deliver... or hurt their overall brand.
Porsche doesn't have an Elon or a crazy fanbase. I think Porsche has lots of fans, but they are there because of a hard-earned reputation over decades.
Similar video discussing similar points. I think this guy is wrong that Porsche built the Taycan for Porsche buyers.

A possibility is Porsche might be planning to roll out updates.

Being part of VW group i'm confident they planned for this but launched early to not miss out.
