Can the Porsche Taycan keep up with a Tesla Model S in a straight line?
Until now, it was thought that wasn't likely with Porsche claiming around 600-HP for the car. Now a new report by Autocar has indicated it will in fact offer "well over" 700 hp and get more than 750 lb-ft of torque!
The 0-60 mph time is, therefore, possible to hit as low as 2.5 seconds, despite a curb weight of roughly 4,960 lbs.
With the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S model set to debut next week on September 4th, the S is planned to get ceramic brakes, a stiffer suspension, all-wheel steering and 21-inch tires.
We actually caught a Taycan test mule running 305/30/ZR21 tires on the rear, which are substantially larger than even the optional 285/35/22s on the Model S.
