I've been doing regular posts on the home page tracking where the Taycan is now. It appears there are at least 4 groups of cars traveling around the globe.

I wanted to open it up to you all to post photos of the Taycan from yourself (if you spy it) or from your own social communities.

We've seen it in Easter Europe, China, the UK and the US West Coast.

Recently I was able to track it on Instagram posts moving West across Canada from Quebec City to Montreal, to Kinston and finally to Toronto.

Where will it be next? Help us track the Taycan!

Also, for your entertainment, here's a Porsche test driving getting some McDonald's in the Taycan prototype.

A Taycan was spied testing alongside two 992's in Ireland.

Do you think we'll eventually see some video from Porsche covering these extensive tests around the world? The Taycan needs a story and these testing phases are perfect.

Never realized it was as extensive as this...
“In Scandinavia, just a few kilometres away from the Arctic Circle, it is proving its potential in terms of driving dynamics on snow and ice. At the same time, Porsche engineers are taking advantage of the summer in the Southern Hemisphere. In South Africa, they are conducting performance tests, as well as final adjustments in terms of continuous performance and reproducibility. In Dubai they are carrying out hot-climate endurance runs and testing battery charging under extreme conditions.”

So far all I could find was this.
Porsche Taycan EV Final Testing
Porsche’s first purely electrically driven sports car, the Taycan, is currently completing its final test drives before it enters series production.

In Scandinavia, just a few kilometres away from the Arctic Circle, it is proving its potential in terms of driving dynamics on snow and ice. At the same time, Porsche engineers are taking advantage of the summer in the Southern Hemisphere. In South Africa, they are conducting performance tests, as well as final adjustments in terms of continuous performance and reproducibility. In Dubai they are carrying out hot-climate endurance runs and testing battery charging under extreme conditions. The 30 countries across the globe in which these comprehensive tests are being carried out have temperatures that range from minus 35 to plus 50 degree Celsius.

“After carrying out computer simulations and comprehensive bench tests early on, we have now reached the final phase of this demanding testing programme,” underlines the vice president of the model line, Stefan Weckbach: “Before the Taycan is launched on the market at the end of the year, we will have covered approximately six million kilometres across the globe. We are already very happy with the current status of the vehicles. The Taycan is going to be a true Porsche.”

Of course, at Porsche, electric cars have to undergo the same rigorous testing programme as sport cars with combustion engines. In addition to displaying superior performance, this always includes proving unrestricted suitability for everyday use in all climate conditions. Particularly demanding features such as charging the battery or temperature control of the drive train and the interior under extreme conditions are additional aspects in the battery-powered models. Other typical Porsche development targets include circuit performance, multiple accelerations, as well as a range suitable for everyday use.

Facts from the Taycan testing phase
▪ Overall distance covered: Approximately six million kilometres, of which two million were endurance run kilometres
▪ Countries: A total of 30, including the USA, China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Finland
▪ Temperatures: From minus 35 to plus 50 degree Celsius
▪ Air humidity: From 20 to 100 per cent
▪ Altitude: From 85 metres below to 3,000 metres above sea level
▪ Charging cycles: Over 100,000 using various charging technologies across the globe
▪ Development team: Around 1,000 test drivers, technicians and engineers

Virtual drive through “The Green ****”
Test experts were able to build upon the comprehensive findings from the digital testing stage using digital prototypes. At present, computers are used to design the body, drive, chassis, electronics and overall vehicle of a new model and to simulate their functions – which includes how they work together. In total, the virtual prototypes of the Taycan have completed more than ten million digital kilometres.

This meant that development engineers started driving a Taycan around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a driving simulator at an early stage, so that they could test and evaluate its circuit performance. During this process, they focused on the electrical energy management, which plays an important role in achieving a sub-eight-minute lap time on the 20.6-kilometre (timed distance) Nordschleife.

Already more than 20,000 prospective buyers
The Porsche Taycan will be introduced in September and will be launched onto the market at the end of the year. Across the globe, there are already more than 20,000 serious prospective buyers. The potential customers have put their names down on an option programme list and made a down payment.

The Taycan accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in significantly less than 3.5 seconds. It has a range of more than 500 kilometres (according to the NEDC). The 800-V architecture in the vehicle guarantees that the lithium-ion battery can be recharged in just four minutes, providing enough energy to drive 100 kilometres (according to NEDC).

Looks great next to those 911s!

I also just found this:

Taycan spied on the autobahn in Germany.
It might be more than just 992's alongside a Taycan.
Last I heard Porsche wanted to develop a hybrid 992. As you can guess it might be one of those mules.
I'm not familiar with 911's but can anyone here spot anything on them that would indicate they might be hybrids??
I saw these pics show up on Twitter this morning. Not sure where they are from. They look like official Porsche pics.

Some friends in China told me about this spotting. A bunch of Taycan's were in Shanghai but i'm sure other mega Chinese cities will be seeing them, if not already.

More Tayan sightings again. This time in California

I was surprised to see this one. It's a shot of two production-looking Taycans in the plant in Zuffenhausen.

I don't think we've seen this before.

I'm surprised that with so many public spottings that no one managed to peel back some of the camo when no one was looking... or just something aside from what Porsche wants us to see.
New Spy video from California today!

Some new pics of the Taycan charging again. These are really nice photos actually.

The Taycan was apparently spotted at the Nurburgring. It would be great to see what kind of lap numbers it's able to post.

Porsche has said a sub-8 minute Nurburgring lap time is targeted. How much less than 8 minutes is anyone's guess at this point.

The Panamera turbo is the world's fastest 4-door on the Nurburgring with a 7:38 lap time.
Knowing how much wider 992 911's have gotten over the 991's, we can probably run with that information to get some concrete dimension info of the Taycan.

The Taycan slot between Panamera and 911 which already come close to each other.
My guess is it'll be closer to the Panamera's rear end. Taycan is unofficially a Panamera sedan IMO.

It's really NOT a Taycan sedan. Regardless of what it looks like it rides on a totally unique platform.
Didn't know that bit and stand corrected! But compared to the Taycan Cross Turismo it will be a sedan, something we can agree on.
The Taycan IS a Porsche sedan, according to Porsche CEO Oliver Blume. It was in his April interview when He was primarily discussing the electric Boxster. I will see if I can find the original complete interview.....So many snipetts of the interview are chopped up into various articles. He had stated that the Boxster will be the all electric sportscar, implied the 911 may continue with all gas and a gas-electric hybrid, then in the SUV division, the Macan will be the all-electric, the Cayenne will be the all gas and gas-electric hybrid and in the "limousine " division, the Panamera will have the all gas and hybrid models, while the Taycan will be the all electric. In German, the word " limousine" means sedan in American english or saloon in British english. It does not mean the same thing that limousine means in english (a car with a driver)

Here's a quick video of a Taycan hitting the highway in Orange County, California.
