As we creep closer to the world premiere of the Porsche Taycan, here are the first Taycan images in production form.

Porsche released a section of images of the upcoming Taycan in a colorful wrap and wearing the slogan "Soul, Electrified".

While not quite as dramatic as the concept car, it's certainly NOT the look of the Panamera - something many outlets worried was the case after spy photos of the Taycan in Panamera-clothing emerged.

One important (and not unexpected) note is that the suicide doors design is gone in favor of conventional units.

Porsche recently announced the Taycan would debut in September with deliveries in January of 2020.

Glad to see that a lot of the original designs from the Mission E concept are making their way over to the production model. Was a bit worried with the test mules that the Taycan was losing some of its originality.

The front of the vehicle seems a little more subdued with the less exaggerated wheel wells and slopping hood. Kinda wish the production model kept those design elements.

I wonder what, if any, design elements will be introduced to distinguish the different models of the Taycan.

I'm very impressed at Porsche's commitment to delivering on what we originally see in the Mission E. If this keeps up with an even more affordable EV from Porsche, it can do a lot of damage to brands like Tesla. At some point Porsche will want to push more volume so it could mean a Model 3 rival.
