According to a report from Auto Motor und Sport, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume will become the new head of VW. Blume will be replaced by Bernhard Maier, the current head of Skoda.
" Porsche boss Oliver Blume is said to be appointed as VW brand executive to deal with the dramatic problems with Golf and ID.3. A clever move by Diess, because it gets him out of the line of fire. After all, he is currently responsible for the brand - and with it the entire misery."
I think this is a great move for VW overall, given Porsche's success with the Taycan it makes sense for Blume to be the guy that's tasked with getting VW's EVs off the ground.
