I'm looking forward to every plug-in EV coming out in 2020, whether PHEV or BEV. It's an exciting time in the automotive industry, and for those of us who are just tired of ICEVs and going to gas staions, and the pollution that ICEVs put out, and the disgusting oil industry that they support. I'm eager to see more about the Rivian, yes, but also the Polestar 2, the Mach-E, whatever Tesla comes out with (Model Y presumed), the new German PHEVs, the RAV4 Prime -- and new announcements about impending EVs including the Cross Turismo (especially), the Macan BEV and Macan E-Hybrid, Polestar 3, other Tesla vehicles, etc.
The world is going to follow Germany's pattern of the past couple of months, with PHEVs outselling BEVs, for the coming decade -- because the masses aren't ready for BEVs. PHEVs will provide an important bridge between ICEVs and BEVs for the masses, and they will help get the masses to understand things like all-electric range and charging issues in ways that they do not understand now (and in ways that prevent the masses from embracing BEVs in 2019 and 2020).
