The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is Probably Too Fast - One Take
The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is a serious machine. Unlike other sports EV's, which seem to offer thrilling acceleration but ultimately mean to replace driving, rather than improving it, the Taycan is the driver's EV. It's the EV designed and built by people who have won every major endurance race ever hosted. Its new 800V architecture, stunning good looks, and positively bonkers pace combined with the seriousness of build quality you get from Porsche, combines to make the best production EV money can buy.
I SMOKED the Porsche Taycan 4S's EPA Rating by 40% WITHOUT EVEN TRYING!
The 2021 Porsche Taycan 4S is how Porsche slowly moves downmarket with their product. Lat last year, they launched the Turbo and Turbo S, two rocket sleds that warp the bank account just as fast as they warp the brain. Those are absurd vehicles. The 4S has a much more "reasonable" 562 horsepower and 479 lb/ft with the optional larger (93 kwh) battery, as we have here. You can also get a smaller (79 kwh) battery and save some money and some weight, at the expense of both power and range. But starting at $110,000, as opposed to the Turbo's $170,000, and still featuring completely bonkers performance stats, the Taycan 4S is really the one you want to buy.
