Many have been confused with Porsche's selected moniker for their new electric. So much so that Porsche has released a new video which shows how exactly the name is to be pronounced. The proper pronunciation is Tie-kahn.

I personally didn't have an issue with the concept Mission E name. This isn't the first time that Porsche has had to breakdown how exactly to pronounce one of their models either lol.

There are probably still a good number of Americans that mispronounce Porsche lol. I agree that the concept nameplate was better and if you have to make a video explaining it, you haven't really done a very good job marketing.

It's also just the result of the English translation. We know that the moniker derives from the meaning 'lively young horse'. It might be a safer bet for Porsche to just stick with numbers for future models.

Who wants to bet that debadging the Taycan of it Taycan name plate will be a popular move?

Odds are a big portion of owners will care for nothing else than a Porsche emblem.

Given the amount of pre orders and early interest the Taycan has seen, it doesn't appear that the nameplate has had any negative impact. It's the platform that buyers really care about.

Debadging would only be a move for posers, vast majority of Porsche owners wouldn't care.

I'm still wondering if the production model will have the full taillight with embedded badging like we saw on the concept. The test mules that we've been seeing, no longer have it.
