I am in Canada and try to select right options for new 4S. Prices in CAD.
Read most of available information and watched youtube.

Volcano Grey Metalic - like this color
910
Turbo Aero Wheels - was thinking about standard wheels
2710
All-Season Tires for 20" Wheels - for Vancouver weather
0
Red Leather - preferable color
5360
Sport Seats - just a bit premium for better seats
490
Perf Pack - better driving. Must have in Taycan I believe?
7700
Tech Pack - this is quite questionable, mostly interested in self parking
which will be $1800 as an option. Pass Disp is not needed, HUD is cool, but i can live without it and prob without ACC.
4960
Premium - likely keep it, for roof and seats.
6700
Rear 2+1 - sometimes need 5 people in/ (I have 7 seater SUV)
550
Deletion of Model Designation on Rear
0
Preparation Porsche Dashcam (front and rear) - must have
150
Performance Battery Plus (93.4 kWh) - also q. Doest it boost peform?
6360
36330

My total build becomes pretty expensive at $166K CAD (125K car and 36k options) + taxes.

Options that I dont see as required, more of additional perks:
Power Steering Plus - for better steering ?
340
PDLS+ - was recommended, nicer look and better perf?
2240
Thermally & Noise Insulated Glass - not sure, but I like noise insulation.
1280
Panoramic Roof with Variable Light Control - looks cool. don't like its frosts each parking
3750
Heated Seats (Front and Rear) - not really needed. but cost is minimal.
600
Advanced 4-Zone Climate Control - just for convenience of passangers
1130
9340

With all options its $175K + taxes.

Let me know what do you think?
Did I miss anything?
Do I need any Electrical options? Mobile Charger Connect ? 19.2 kW On-Board Charger ?
Also does Taycan comes with Charger for home or I need to purchase it separately?

Thank you.

What you don't really need:
  • Advanced 4-Zone Climate Control
  • Thermally & Noise Insulated Glass
  • Perf Pack - only a few options of it

Nice to have:
  • rear steering (if you live in a narrow city, otherwise neglectable as you cannot drive fast in CAN)
  • PDCC - only if you like to drive really fast in corners
  • HUD is really useful

Hello! My Taycan Turbo is the same Volcano Grey with the same 20” wheels as what you have listed. The vehicle looks great and I’ve received highly favorable comments about its exterior color. You’ve made a great exterior color and wheels choice IMHO. I think the Volcano Grey is the best of the “dark” colors Porsche offers.

Regarding your other choices, I think you don’t really need the Technology Package but the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is a “Must Have” IMHO so I’d recommend you drop the Technology Package and order the ACC separately.

Regarding the Performance Package, unless you are going to be driving VERY AGGRESSIVELY on a regular basis, I don’t think you need any of the items within the Performance Package with the exception of the Sports Chrono. The Sports Chrono gives you a very easy to use “Drive Mode Selector“ knob near the center of the Steering Wheel (which to me is very useful) and it also puts a Chronometer/Clock on the top of the center of the dashboard. Without that Clock/Chronomter I think the Taycan doesn’t look (from the perspective of sitting in the interior) like a real Porsche. I’d recommend you drop the Performance Package and order the Sport Chrono separately.

I personally wouldn’t get the Sport Seats as I think the bolsters on the Sports Seat make the seat less comfortable to sit in.

YOU most definitely should spend the $6,360 for the higher capacity Performance Battery Plus. Given how much range drops during time periods of very cold weather, I would think any Canada-based Taycan owner would want to have as much winter weather range as possible so the larger Performance Battery Plus is essential IMHO.

Of the options you don’t think are worth it, I generally agree BUT I have the Noise Insulated Glass on my Taycan and I can tell you that I absolutely love how quiet my Taycan is. I can’t tell you exactly how much quieter that option makes your Taycan but I will say it is amazingly quiet.

Regarding your electricity/charging questions, yes the Taycan does come with a charger which I am pretty sure has an 8’ long cable. The Porsche Car Configurator lists (under standard equipment) a Mobile Charger Plus including a Wall Mount. Porsche didn’t provide the wall mount here in the US when I bought mine so that is a nice touch. If you want a longer (25 foot) charging cable, Porsche forces you to order the Mobile Charger Connect for $1,270.

Regarding the 19.2 kW charger option, most homes here in the US don’t have the electrical capacity to provide AC current at that high a rate. I have the standard 9.6 kW on board charger. My wiring is 240v with 50 amps. Where I live the building codes provide for any circuit to run at 80% so my 50 amp line runs at 40 amps. With 40 amps my charger delivers 9.2 kW to the Taycan. At that rate, I can always fully recharge my Taycan overnight even if I run the battery down to near zero (which I never do). Typically, my evening charging sessions at home tend to be 2 or 3 hours long to charge my Taycan back up to 80%. I’d guess the standard onboard charger is all you need unless your life circumstance are such that you need to be able to recharge very quickly.

As far as anything you might have missed goes, perhaps you should consider getting the deviated stitching in red? I think red stitching on the black dash and door leather will nicely compliment the red seats you have chosen. Other than that I don’t personally feel you need anything else.

I hope all of my thoughts about your choices are helpful to you. Feel free to message me directly if you’d like to ask me any other questions. I’ve helped several people with their Taycan option choices and they all have thanked me after they took delivery to tell me I gave them very good advice. I’m happy to be able to help everyone on this forum with making well informed configuration choices.

What you're missing is rear wheel steering, which is terrifically helpful for parking in tight spaces, and a much smaller overall turning ratio
