But it seems that if you haven't already placed a pre order, you may be waiting for longer than expected. Had a feeling that this was going to be the case. I would imagine there are tons of consumers who have been waiting on a proper Tesla-beating alternative and Porsche seems to have developed one.

This leaves opportunity for rivals products like the e-Tron GT from Audi to capitalize on this demand. I'm sure there will be many that will be content with waiting on a pre order as they will also benefit from seeing what sort of issues arise out of the new platform.

If Tesla buyers were content waiting upwards of 2 and a half years before taking delivery, I don't see why loyalists wouldn't do the same here. At least you wont have to worry about build quality and fit and finish issues.

Tesla just had the advantage of being the first premium EV maker. This time around it won't be as favorable to Porsche.

All of these new upcoming premium electrics are going to run into similar supply issues for launch. At least this proves investments into electric platforms have been a worthwhile endeavor.
