Thanks to a friendly-redditor we have some exciting images of Porsche's fancy new 800-volt fast chargers.

The individual in question snapped these photos while visiting the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta a few days ago. Making the story all the more interesting, he was there for a performance driving course.... and happened to arrive in his Tesla.

These are the first of these chargers we've seen in the US, although there will be many more to come. Last year Porsche announced the installation of a few of these in Berlin.

The new 800-volt technology will allow incredibly fast charging for the new Taycan, with up to 248 mile of range recovered in just 15 minutes.

Porsche has made these

To see just how unique they look, see the images of the two conventional chargers below.

I wish these chargers were setup with some protection from the weather. It doesn't have to be much either. Just protection from the elements similar to regular gas stations. Living up north, I have seen tesla charger setups that don't have protection either. sure seems like something to be addressed.

There are some newer charging networks in Europe like Fastned that are using solar panels as a form of protection from the elements. Though it may be a pain to keep them cleared in the winter months, using renewables to generate some additional power makes a lot of sense.
