I don't think selecting a Turbo S vs. a Turbo is about need. You're never going to really use the difference between the 0-60 times or that surge of added HP, and the carbon ceramic brakes are overkill from the way nearly everyone will be driving these cars. I think this is about a personal need to have the very best Porsche can produce. If you can afford to buy their top of a line automobile you have just eliminated that gnawing feeling of seeing the one that you didn't get pull up next to you. I've done it and didn't like the sense of regret that it produced. There is a certain sense of perfection that the Turbo S creates when you park it, cross the street and look back. And when you approach it and anticipate opening that driver's door and settling in to the best of the best. While you're at it, add the sport design package. It really creates a sense of your car being special.
