I decided to base my configuration on a Turbo and add a series of options vs going with the Turbo S .

Taycan turbo. 150,900
Carmine Red. 3,150
21” Mission E 3,570
Sport Design package. 6,040
Adaptive Cruise control. 2,050
Performance package. 5,400
Premium package. 4,340
PSCB 900
Wheels Satin Aurum. 1,290
leather interior black/beige. 570

Total including delivery $181,360.00*
(* including options not listed. charger, window tint, window trim etc)

I did run the numbers for the Turbo S which includes many of my options but not the following.

Carmine Red
SportDesign Package
Performance Package

What I didn’t get that comes with the Turbo S

Increased performance
Carbon brakes
Touch sensor for charge port.

Total. cost $204,000 aprox.

I am sure there may be other differences that I didn’t cover. However, if like me you have spent hours on the configurator, I thought I would share my conclusions.

my configuration code “PLBZHB73” if you want to check it on the configurator

I received the car 2 weeks ago, placed deposit Approx 10/15/2019, final Configuration 2/17/2020, delivered 8/26/2020.

Great spec!

Love the Mission E wheels with the Sport Design package.

Have you looked into any of the new subscription options like Innodrive?

I had not looked at Innodrive, so I did a little research. If I understand correctly it enhances adaptive cruise control and dynamically alters the set speed based upon posted speed. Did I miss something?. Based on my understanding I don’t think it would provide value for my driving. I do like the adaptive cruise control, however I would typically set my speed to 9 mph above the limit on the highway, with Innodrive I believe it would set you to the speed limit. I don’t use the car to commute, so if I am not on the highway I want to enjoy driving.

I don't think selecting a Turbo S vs. a Turbo is about need. You're never going to really use the difference between the 0-60 times or that surge of added HP, and the carbon ceramic brakes are overkill from the way nearly everyone will be driving these cars. I think this is about a personal need to have the very best Porsche can produce. If you can afford to buy their top of a line automobile you have just eliminated that gnawing feeling of seeing the one that you didn't get pull up next to you. I've done it and didn't like the sense of regret that it produced. There is a certain sense of perfection that the Turbo S creates when you park it, cross the street and look back. And when you approach it and anticipate opening that driver's door and settling in to the best of the best. While you're at it, add the sport design package. It really creates a sense of your car being special.
